About Lenson Punting & Kicking

LENSON

Sam Lenson received a Division 1 scholarship to punt and kick for the University of Maine Black Bears. After redshirting his freshman year he had a significant injury to his kicking leg that kept him out of the game he loved for nine and a half months. There was a decision to make; either walk away from the game or work hard to try to regain strength in his leg. His desire to compete and play the game he loved drove him to take the long road through rehabilitation and recovery. With hard work and determination he was able to regain enough power to his leg to compete for a starting job. Sam will be the first to tell you that he didn't have the career he dreamed of but his passion is helping kickers, punters and long snappers reach their ultimate goals. Sam accepted a Special Teams Quality Control Coach position at UMaine while in graduate school. He reviewed film with the specialists, made practice plans, provided on field instruction and it was his job to get them ready to play on game-day. Sam is a passionate, energetic and knowledgeable coach who will help your athlete reach their goals.
